Arise Fashion Week, Nigeria, With Naomi Campbell Ends On Sunday

#goosebumps! The fashion week which took place from April 19th-21st in Lagos featured amazing show of African creativity and style. Naomi Campbell was the spotlight of the event.

The week commenced with a conversation on diverse issues bothering the fashion industry and how it can change the African narrative. with an objective to continue to empower African designers to compete globally. Discussants include industry heads and experts, Arise Media.

To consolidate the mission, Campbell announced a deal with Gucci brand that reward hidden fashion talents in three universities across Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. University of Lagos, in Nigeria, is the beneficiary. Campbell revealed that it was her own way of giving back to the continent since her over three decades journey in the fashion industry.

The event was graced by exotic fashion designers & supermodels from Africa and other continents of the world — Naomi Campbell, Andre Leon Talley, Lanre Da-Silva, Lulu Lingerie, the Moroccan designer Maison ArtC; Triple RRR by Robert Cavalli, Ivorian American designer Loza Maléombho to name a few.

Their designs elevated and paraded the African traditions, from traditional elements to warrior-like head gears and print.
