Footballer Victor Osimhen Shares touching story about his life via an interview with a club member. The Nigerian professional football who plays as a striker for serie A club Napoli and the Nigerian national team narrates how he was written off by people.

He said after his mother died which he was still a child and his father lost his job 3 months after, then started his suffering alongside his elder brothers and sisters. “My humble beginning was really tough for me. I lost my mum when I was a very young boy, my father lost his job and things were really hard for me and my elder sisters and brothers“

He narrated how he washed gutters for landlord who is now late for a pay of # 20 and fetched water for neighbors for a pay of #80 while his siblings hacked one thing or the other  while they were still growing up.

And the last menial job he did was hawking and chasing vehicles in the traffic having being born and raised in a place called Olusosun, in Lagos state, Nigeria. If you lived in the congested regions of Lagos state , it is typical of Lagos residents who live near by to hawk around the traffic jams. He said , “ I had to sell water in the streets of traffic of Lagos state just to survive “

The climax of it all was when people identified his family as one that nothing good can come out from because “nothing was promised and no one will tell you they believe in you”

Victor said, in spite of all that he never saw it as the end of the world for him but was inspired by the professionals in his found love passion, football and wanted to be like them. He held unto football believing that was the only hope he and his family had to live a better life.

In the end of the interview, he thanked God for where he is at today and working hard and not giving up on himself.

Victor James Osimhen is currently the highest paid African football player with the sum of $800 and considered one of the best strikers in the world.

He is currently playing the National team at the ongoing AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast. Nigeria reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday after a tense semi against South Africa which went the distance.
