Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli recently faced a significant challenge when her latest movie, “Love In Every Word,” was temporarily removed from YouTube due to a copyright infringement claim. The film, which premiered on March 7, 2025, quickly garnered immense popularity, amassing over 7 million views within 72 hours.
The takedown occurred after Chinonso Obiora, a Canadian-based network engineer and owner of Skyberry Studios in Abuja, filed a copyright claim against the movie. Visitors to Oboli’s YouTube channel encountered a message stating, “This video is no longer available due to copyright claims by Chinonso Obiora Skyberry.”
The removal sparked outrage among fans and social media users, many of whom expressed sympathy for Oboli and questioned the validity of the claim. Some fans suggested foul play, with one Twitter user calling it “wickedness” and another expressing shock over the situation.
In response to the situation, Oboli worked diligently to resolve the issue, and the movie has since been reinstated on YouTube. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support during the ordeal, stating, “Thank you for the love and concern. We deeply appreciate you all for your calls, messages, posts, tweets, comments, everything! I’m sorry I couldn’t respond at the time. There was a little misunderstanding with our movie ‘Love In Every Word.’ It’s been sorted out now, and we are back stronger than ever!”

“Love In Every Word” is a romantic drama starring Uzor Arukwe and Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi. The film has received positive reviews, with many praising the chemistry between the lead actors.
This incident underscores the complexities surrounding copyright issues in the digital age, especially within the entertainment industry. It highlights the importance of clear communication and proper rights management to prevent such disputes and ensure that creative works remain accessible to audiences worldwide.
